Bloom Where You Are Planted.

As much as I love watching my spring garden I love to watch my summer garden even more; because that’s when the flowers I have planted bring forth their fruit. Summer is the season when they bloom where they are planted. I love to just go to the garden in the summer to get an inspiration from the glorious praise each species presents. My Daylilies really know how to give glory to the Lord; it doesn’t matter to them that their blooms only last for one day. They do not give up, they praise Him all day long. Halleluiah! Isn’t that awesome? I love that I can praise Him not only through my poetry and my inspirational writings but through the flowers I’ve planted in my garden. I go to my garden to get an inspiration from all of nature that lives there. All kind of birds, squirrels, butterflies and rabbits exist in my garden but it is the flowers that blooms that attract them as do me, to the wonders of God that the garden holds.

I have a bunch of Daylilies that for the past three years that I’ve planted my garden had not bloomed. So I felt that they were of no use to what I had planted my garden to do, and that is to glorify the Lord. My garden is God’s garden and every plant that I have planted had to perform the purpose of what they were planted to do.. They have to bloom where they were planted. If they were not contributing to glorify the Lord then they must go, I thought. This was going to be the summer that it had to happen; they had to go.

I talk to my flowers y'all. This is something I learned from my mom. She said that her flowers were sensitive to her voice. Well don’t tell me flowers can’t understand; the very Daylilies that I told had to go are blooming beautiful this summer. It’s like in Jesus Parable of the Fig tree, we need to be ready with our fruit when He needs them for His use. Just like my Daylilies were sensitive to me, their gardner's voice, I am sensitive to Jesus my Lord and Savior's voice. As a flower in His Garden of Life I want to bear good fruit, so I am striving to be ready when He calls on me to perform; Are you blooming where you are planted? God is watching you.

The Daylily

~ Observe if you will,
the wit and the skill,
of the beautiful flower,
of the daylily in the field...

She has only twenty-four hours,
to display her glorious praise,
where other lilies
have a number of days...

Imagine for a moment being a daylily,
in the warmth of a summer day,
knowing you have only this time,
to have God look your way...

It's no wonder why they reach upwards,
and lift their arms so high,
for they know God is looking,
there above the sky...

There are no better witnesses,
of the splendid life that can be lived in a day,
just depending on God's provisions,
Oh! if we just lived our lives this way...

Just look as they stand
and say not a word,
now imagine the stories they would tell if
daylilies had voices to be heard ~

The Blooms of Summer


To the flowers of my Garden

Lord if I must die
let it not be in spring time
for the flowers come
in the spring time...

Lord if I must die
let it not be in the Summer,
for the flowers and trees
bloom in Summer...

Lord if I must die
let it not be in autumn
for my flowers, their summer blooms will shed
and I will lovingly prepare their winter beds...

If I must die Lord
let it be in Winter,
For my flowers will be sleeping
And will not see me go.
